The Challenge

The challenge was finding a concept that could celebrate Volkswagen's heritage while remaining relevant to its modern lineup.

We needed a story that felt authentic, emotionally grounded, and rooted in a real ownership experience.

The VISION

The idea of generational ownership quickly emerged as the foundation of the project.

We discovered a beautifully maintained 1989 Volkswagen Golf that had already lived this story. Originally owned by a mother and passed down to her daughter, the vehicle became the perfect symbol of longevity, reliability, and the memories attached to a well-loved car.

From there, we imagined the next chapter.

What if one day she passed the Golf down to her own daughter and upgraded to a new 2025 Volkswagen Taos?

The story allowed us to explore multiple emotional perspectives at once: a parent gifting their child a first vehicle, a young driver receiving that gift, and a family creating new memories while honoring old ones.

True to Life

Our creative was based on research and backed by reality.

When we approached the owner of the 1979 Volkswagen Golf and pitched them the concept, they shared that the car was a true 3-generation vehicle. 3 generations of women were sitting behind the wheel of this little red car.

The Approach

We centered the story around a Volkswagen with genuine family history, allowing the film to draw from a real experience of generational ownership and adding authenticity to the narrative.

On Location Logistics

Filming on location required permits, road closures, and a practical home location, helping us create an environment that felt natural, lived-in, and true to the story.

Capturing Cinematic Automotive Imagery

We partnered with Prairie Cinema Solutions and used their camera vehicle, remote head, and Russian Arm system to safely capture dynamic rolling shots while maintaining high-end automotive production value.

THE RESULTS

By grounding the story in a real family experience, the film highlighted the emotional value of ownership while creating a natural bridge between an iconic Volkswagen from the past and a new generation of vehicles.

The project also demonstrated the value of combining authentic storytelling with large-scale automotive production techniques to create work that feels both cinematic and personal.
